Background: Invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) is one of the leading causes for hospitalization and deaths among children and the elderly. Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) has been introduced by Taiwan government for different target groups of children under 5 years of age since 2009. The effectiveness of the programs has not yet been evaluated. Objectives: 1. To evaluate the PCV coverage and effectiveness for children under 5 years of age; 2. To assess the effectiveness of one dose regimen of PCV for 2-5 years of age; 3. To evaluate the synergy effects for co-administration of PCV and influenza vaccine. Methods: 1.
